After my paul mitchell smoothing iron broke down, I decided to research and see if there was anything better out there. a Friend of mine swears by this avanti model since it has the strip as well. I can honestly say this works much better then my paul mitchell, and it leaves hair straight for a longer period of time (Posted on 1/25/15)

I got this about six months ago after my second Paul Mitchell iron short circuited. Aparantly it's quite common in those models. The Paul Mitchell smoothed my hair like no other, so I was very hesitant to try a new brand. My stylist recomended the Avanti Silicone, because it has the silicone strips just like the Paul Mitchell did.

Low and Behold, this one actually works BETTER then the Paul Mitchell. It gets hotter and leaves my hair smoother withouth the damaged fried look. I recommend this to any one that has used the PM before and are now looking for a new brand of iron. LOVE IT! (Posted on 8/18/13)

I was recommended this by my stylist, who used to use the now Discontinued Paul Mitchell iron(the one with the green plates).

This one also has the Silicone Strip plates that grip to the hair like the Paul mitchell. Except this get much hottter and leaves it straighter longer. Highly recommend it! (Posted on 8/13/13)
